i'm almost positive he's not actually talking to WBC. WBC members have an obvious midwestern accent and never lose their cool the way this guy did. also, also WBC believe God DOES make people gay -- gayness is a curse from god. they've said it 1000 times.
actually, now i know it's fake. the kid posted an apology video after westboro threatened to sue him.
@ Andy: The WBC knows where I am, if it wants to disown that gong-show worthy performance.
I saw the kid's apology video: it was clearly meant to address the series of prank calls he made.
doesn't matter what WBC does. if you're serious about being a "WBC scholar," then you should disown it yourself.
Never claimed to be a "WBC scholar" - and what's more, I think they did this. That's why I posted it. Stop nipping at my heels.
This post really discredits your blog. If you want to be taken seriously, you need to use better judgment when reporting on things you find. Especially content that was created by a 12 year old that posted it to youtube.
Um, you're under the misapprehension that I care whether people take the blog seriously or not. I report; you decide. You think it's fake. I don't. If you don't like how I run my blog, go make your own.
Obviously fake. Look at this line:

WBC would never say anything like that. They believe in predestination -- Jesus did not try to 'save' anyone from being gay. God has known for all of eternity who'd be gay and who wouldn't -- who'd go to hell and who would not.
I didn't listen to any more of it. That line, plus the guy's tone, really make it difficult to believe that it was WBC.
Regarding the youtube video in question where a teenage boy claims to call the Westboro Baptist Church, it is indeed fake and a hoax. Why? Because a) listen *closely* at exactly 1:00 in the video, and you'll hear the supposed church member laugh when saying "because you have have sex with the men", and b) when he calls he dials *67 (to block his ID) and THEN only 7 digits. He is not located in the same city as them, therefore if he was calling out of town he would have indeed had to dial the area code, and then the 7 digit number...hence, *67 + 10 digit full number=13 digits total, he dialed only 10.
